At the Huilerie Beaujolaise, sesame seeds undergo a crushing process first and then are cooked for 45 minutes. Next, they are pressed in a hydraulic press for 2 hours and 30 minutes. After decantation, the oil is carefully filtered through a paper filter.

This traditional production method imparts a light toasted flavor to the resulting oil. It's important to note that no additives are introduced during the cooking or filtration process, ensuring that this oil is free from any antioxidants.

How to Use Traditional Toasted Sesame Virgin Oil from Huilerie Beaujolaise?

Some Suggestions for Using Traditional Toasted Sesame Virgin Oil

  • - Salmon Cake with Sesame Oil: In a bowl, beat 3 eggs, 150g of flour, 1 sachet of yeast, a pinch of salt and pepper. Add 10 cl of toasted sesame oil and 120ml of milk. Cut salmon into cubes and add to the batter along with diced onions. Incorporate sesame seeds, emmental cheese, salmon, onions, green olives, and mix. Bake for 45 minutes at 180°C ;
  • - Hummus with Toasted Sesame Oil: Blend chickpeas and add tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt to the blender. Blend and gradually incorporate toasted sesame oil until you get a smooth paste. Serve in a bowl with pita bread ;
  • - Cantonese Fried Rice with Toasted Sesame Oil: In a wok, heat toasted sesame oil and add diced shrimp, peas, and bacon. Stir-fry. Pour beaten eggs and add a generous drizzle of toasted sesame oil. Serve hot.
