This biscuit is a true classic in Belgium, Germany, Holland and in Northern France. Traditionally, it was handed out to children on 6th December, on St Nicolas’ day. Nowadays, it’s the ideal companion for a cup of coffee, a tiramisu or even duck breast !

Use 1 teaspoon of the mix per kilo of dough.
The name “speculoos” could come from the latin “species” which means spices or from “Speculaas”, a Dutch biscuit dating back to the 17th century made from spices from India.
