A surprising seasoning !
In Asia, sesame has been used for centuries where it is acclaimed for its many medicinal properties. Hippocrates, the anicent Greek physician, recommended it for its oustanding nutritional properties.
Sesame with Umeboshi plums is a widely used Japanese seasoning, where it is usually served with white rice. Umeboshi plums are pickled fruits used in pastes, juices, liqueurs or vinegars. Umeboshi plums are really a type of apricot. Harvested before fully ripened during the rainy season, then plunged into cold water for several hours to get rid of the bitterness, they are then salted for 6 weeks with shiso leaves which give them their attractive colour.
Sesame seeds with Umeboshi plums are deliciously light and truly irresistible! These beautiful, amazing, crunchy pink seeds, create an almost bubbly sensation on your tongue! Perfect for brightening up a bowl of rice, salads and soups.
The key to happiness !
