Savory is a perennial Mediterranean aromatic plant from the Lamiaceae family.

The seeds of this herb are planted in Spring at the end of April. The seedlings emerge about 6 to 10 days later, and the plant is harvested two months later. It can also be grown from cuttings.

Savory has been used as seasoning since Ancient times to enhance grilled meat, sauces or pan-fried vegetables.

It is also said to help digestion, alleviating bloating.

Savory is an ingredient of the famous herbes de Provence herb mix.
