To find this exceptional salt, Erwann de Kerros, founder of Terre Exotique, met Hélal, the last descendant of a Bedouin family holding the secret of Frost Salt. A secret passed down from father to son. It is in the heart of the white desert of Bahariya, not far from the Bahariya oasis, in a very specific location that Hélal finds Frost Salt. He digs until a fine layer of salt appears, from an ancient sea that is 70 million years old. Under a layer of sand, Frost Salt appears, and below that, Hélal finds water.

Therefore, Erwann naturally named this true Egyptian treasure: Frost Salt, due to the appearance of its crystals, elongated and thin, pure white resembling snowflakes.
