Assal lake salt pearl
9.5

Assal lake salt pearl

This salt takes the shape of pearls as it is polished over the years by the water in Lake Assal, Ethiopia, and then washed up on the banks. The tiny size of this fine salt makes it a perfect fine salt or table salt.

Details

West of Djibouti, Lake Assal, the saltiest lake in the world, is the lowest and hottest point on the African continent.

Birthplace of humanity, land of legends, Ethiopia is a mythic place

that has always fascinated adventurers, writers and artists Joseph Kessel, Henri de Monfreid, Arthur Rimbaud…

This is a very dry salt that crunches when you bite into it. The

first notes are rather harsh, forthright and rich at the same time.

They are reminiscent of the aridity and hostility of Lake Assal.

Salt pearls are naturally sculpted by the water and the wind. The

the waves of surf on the salt fields produce the “snowball” effect.

This salt is pure and completely edible. The size of the pearls varies infinitely.
