advent calendar ?
For 25 years, Terre Exotique's passionate team has been crossing the
five continents in search of the finest quality products, with exotic
flavors, to bring them back to France before packaging them and associating
them together to offer tasty blends.
Enter gently into the magic of Christmas with a world tour of 24
exceptional spices.
Each day, you will find a new product from our collection, and a
recipe associated with it. Something to keep you busy during the Advent
season!
Spoiler alert, for the
curious, here are the contents of the spices hidden in our calendar. However,
we reserve you the surprise of the associated recipes!
1 - Roast chicken blend: A
blend of spices that will make your white meats a true source of flavour and
originality. Sunday roast chicken like you've never seen it before with Terre
Exotique's roast chicken blend.
2 - Voatsiperifery pepper :
In the heart of the Malagasy forests, the lianas of Voastiperifery pepper can
reach 30 m high! Rare, original, and addictive with woody and floral notes...
This pepper in your mill will energize your recipes.
Perfect agreement : with chocolate!
3 – Crazy salt : Crazy salt is
distinguished by the spices that color and flavor it.
Its slightly smoky and spicy character, as well as its notes of herbs
from Provence, make this salt the perfect ally of your red and white meats
and pan-fried vegetables.
4 - Fleur de sel with grilled
spices : Here is THE great classic of Terre Exotique. A fleur de sel
flavored with roasted spices. A must-have in the kitchen, it enhances all
your everyday dishes!
5 - Kari-Brest : A
blend of spices inspired by the one brought back by the sailors of St Malo,
Lorient and Brest, at the time of the East India Company. First used for its
benefits, this blend quickly became a reference for all the cooks of
Brittany. Its notes of clove, chilli and paprika make this blend a very good
asset for the preparation of fish and seafood, such as lobster.
6 - Speculoos blend : Thanks
to this speculoos spice blend, you will be able to make your own homemade
speculoos and delight your friends and family. It goes well with tea, coffee
or crushed in desserts. Count 1 tsp. per kilo of dough.
7 – Red Curry : Popular
in Thailand, this moderately spicy blend goes well with meat, shrimp, or
tofu. To use it at its best, fry 1 to 2 tsp of spices in coconut oil in a
wok, add 20 cl of coconut milk and dip your pieces of meat in it for about 10
minutes. Serve with rice and fresh coriander.
8 – Penja white
pepper : The must-have for your mill! This white Penja pepper
with animal notes and menthol aromas is exceptional in its character and
flavor.
9 - Cajun blend : This
ingenious Cajun blend, whose recipe originated in Louisiana, goes perfectly
with potatoes, fish and shellfish.
10 – Classic chaï : Classic Chai
is a rich and fragrant blend of spices, to be brewed like a tea.
Dosage: 1 teaspoon per cup. Infusion : 8 min at 100°C. Decoction : 15
min at 100°C. Filter the spices before serving.
11 - Madras curry : Curry
is THE famous Indian spice mix, use it in all your dishes, even in your
desserts !
12 - Zaatar : In
Lebanon, this mix of warm lemony flavours is used in mezzés. Add a Middle
Eastern touch to your vegetables, white meat and smoked salmons, or add to
your marinades!
13 - Trapper Mix : This
sweet’n’salty Quebecois mix is ideal with salmon, grilled meat and soups.
14 - Gomasio : Gomasio
is a mix of roasted spices and fleur de sel widely used in Japanese cuisine.
Sprinkle over your raw vegetables, salads, crunchy vegetables, sushi, sashimi
or wok-fried dishes !
15 - Timur berry : The
Timur berry is a very precious rarity. The Timur berry is harvested by
farmers in the Nepalese mountains and has unique lemony, vegetable yet woody
aromas. Use cracked or infused in your dishes, it will spice up your shellfish,
fish and chocolate desserts.
16 – Ashanti pepper : Ashanti
pepper is picked by the Baakas tribe. Ashanti pepper grows in the wild on
vines which creep up more than 20 metres high. Outstanding lingering taste.
Used in the traditional Congolese dish: "Ashanti grilled chicken".
17 – Mexican spice rubs :
Terre Exotique’s Mexican rub was inspired by the well-known Mexican
seasoning. Everyone knows that the Mexicans love their chillis, but this
always goes hand-in-hand with lemon!
18 - Viking smoked salt : With
its powerful and smoked aromas, Viking Salt is sure to surprise! Legend has
it that this marvellous recipe inherited from the Vikings was found by
miracle. A superb accompaniment to gratin dauphinois, eggs or crunchy raw
salad vegetables!
19 – Cheese pepper blend :
A mix of peppers to enliven your cheese platter.
Perfect with: raclette cheese, goat's cheese, French Savoy Tomme
cheese.
Also delicious with a mature Comté or Cheddar.
Add a peppery hint to all your cheeses!
20 – Christmas sugar,
Sugarcane with spices : This Christmas sugar with hints of gingerbread
releases delicious festive spicy warm flavours. A perfect treat for everyone,
in home-made cakes, fruit tarts or to sweeten the glaze for your Christmas
turkey.
21 - Diamond salt & truffle
: This mix of Himalayan diamond salt and summer truffle will transform
all your daily dishes. Ideal sprinkled over mashed potatoes or vegetables,
carpaccio, delicate white fish or just a simple omelette.
22 - Gingerbread Mix : Discover
the delight of home-made gingerbread! Use it to enchant your butternut squash
and shellfish. Why not try it in your sponges, cakes and biscuits... Use 3
teaspoons for your home-made gingerbread.
23 - Foie Gras Mix : The
success of a foie gras depends on the seasoning! Sprinkle this subtle mix
directly onto your foie gras before serving or use it when preparing your
very own home-made foie gras terrine.
24 – Oyster pepper blend :
Like the Breton seamen from Saint-Cast-le-Guildo on the Emerald Coast, take
the helm and set course for the high seas. Don’t forget your penknife, a
dozen oysters and of course, your oyster pepper for seasoning: a delicate
Breton mix of ground peppers. Our Oyster pepper was awarded the Epicure d’or
prize in the cooking aid category at the Épicure de l’épicerie fine 2022
