Spicy Chili con Carne

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2 onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 50 g butter
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 Amazon Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin
  • 65 g tomato paste
  • 1 large can of red beans (about 400 g)
  • 30 cl beef broth
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh parsley

Preparation:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (thermostat 6).
  • Chop the onions and crush the garlic cloves.
  • In a cast iron pot, melt the butter, then gently brown the onion and garlic.
  • Add the ground beef and cook gently for 10 minutes.
  • Mix 1 finely chopped Amazon Pepper, the teaspoons of cumin, the tomato paste, and add everything to the beef. Add the drained red beans, beef broth, salt, pepper, and parsley. Cover and cook for 25 minutes in the oven.
  • Serve with basmati rice, tortillas, or grated cheese as desired.
