Recipe for Manakish with Zaatar and Rose Harissa
The manakish (or manakeesh, manaqish, in Arabic: مناقيش) is a traditional dish from the Levant, very popular in Lebanon. Ingredients:
- 500 g of pizza or bread dough
- 3 tablespoons of zathar
- 2 tablespoons of rose harissa
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 220°C.
- Roll out the dough into small circles or rectangles.
- Mix the zaatar, rose harissa, and olive oil to create a paste.
- Spread this mixture over the dough.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the dough is golden.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
