Fajitas

Discover the recipe for fajitas with the Terre Exotique spice blend. Fajitas are a traditional Mexican cuisine dish consisting of grilled or sautéed meat mixed with peppers and onions, served in a tortilla.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 400 g of chicken breasts, sliced into strips
  • 2 bell peppers (red, green, or yellow), sliced into strips
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons of Terre Exotique fajitas blend
  • Corn or wheat tortillas, for serving
  • Optional toppings: grated cheese, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, fresh cilantro, lime wedges, etc.

 

Methods

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, lime juice, fajitas seasoning blend, and minced garlic. Add the chicken strips and toss well to coat them with the marinade. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and sauté the marinated chicken strips until golden brown and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if needed, then sauté the bell peppers and red onion until tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the peppers and onions.
  5. Mix well to combine flavors and heat the chicken through.
  6. Meanwhile, heat the tortillas in a skillet or microwave according to package instructions.

Serve the fajitas hot with warm tortillas and your choice of toppings. Let everyone assemble their fajitas by adding chicken and vegetables to the tortillas, then topping with grated cheese, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, fresh cilantro, and lime wedges if desired.
